MAZE OF LIFE (2025)
MAZE OF LIFE is a powerful Hip Hop-driven examination of the Black immigrant experience, resonating deeply with those who navigate cultural duality while fighting to place their authentic intuition and artistic dreams in the driver's seat of their lives.
This story unfolds through the visceral journey of a Black diasporic artist grappling with the intergenerational tension between familial expectation and personal destiny. His struggle is two-fold: simultaneously carving out a professional space as an artist while battling the microaggressions and systemic isolation of a predominantly white environment. The physical and cultural displacement—from Jamaica to Canada, and the urban hub of Toronto to the relative cultural isolation of Victoria—creates a persistent, underlying emotional discourse around identity, belonging, and the sense of community erosion.

THE EAST SIDE
A Canadian coming-of-age comedy set in a 1980s small town in Manitoba. Producer Ken Shapkin's personal life story centers on a car rally to build community and save his father's record store from new competition. Full of 80s tropes and depictions of life in the prairies in oppressive times. A gay teen struggles to find himself and deal with sibling rivalry, bands together with friends, and enters the car rally on their 10-speed bikes. As his Sisters' duelling love interests compete not only for the trophy but her affection, they pull out every stop in the book to prevent the other team from clenching the prize.

The Middle
Project in Creative Development Stage
Kadence Productions, with Moon Productions' founder Carmen Thompson (Diitiidaht/Kyuquot/Coast Salish), presents: The Middle, a supernatural coming-of-age drama rooted in Indigenous cosmology. Tai’s body shifts as the first signs of The Middle take hold; their world fractures into two realities: the ordinary life of school, identity, and family conflict, and the emerging responsibility of a guardian-in-training. The deeper Tai is pulled into The Middle, the more they must learn what it means to belong to a lineage they never asked for.
This is a story of transformation — physical, spiritual, and emotional — and what it costs a young person when destiny arrives before they feel ready to hold it.
